Imagine two girls cruising around Corydon, Indiana. Dressed up to blend in with wedding guests, yet our outfits are strategically chosen for a day's worth of photographs. Cute and comfy. Heather and I stopped for a coffee before heading over to Clarissa's getting ready place. Siri and my directions took me to some sweet man's house, who sadly notified us that we were at the wrong place. He also gave us a list of possibilities there were that not only were we in the wrong place, but we could very well be far from the right place! Thankfully, having the brides phone number became our saving grace. We were in the right spot. Just a couple doors down. Whew! The bride arrived from having her hair done at Style Studio in Corydon, Indiana by Heather Biddle. It was undeniable that she was having a GREAT hair day!Â
I rolled my suitcase of photography goodies to the door. Always being gear prepared, we look like we are moving in! Clarissa, the bride, brought all of her gorgeous details to a table. And from there we took them to a spot with the best light to capture them. Shoes, perfume, jewelry, bouquet, and stationary. We make quick work of it while the bride was doing her makeup and the bridesmaids were arriving to get ready. Once we were finished with the details Clarissa put on all her finishing touches and we headed outside to take bridal portraits! I was thankful for a bright cloudy day. This made shooting in great light easier to find. My favorite part of this moment was when I asked Clarissa if she envisioned any special poses in this dress. She bent her knees and sat right down on the grass and said she would like her dress fluffed out all around her. I loved this idea, especially because I wouldn't have thought to ask her to sit down in the grass in her white gown! I shuffled my feet around capturing different angles making the most out of her dream pose! Once we were finished with all of the photos to be taken there per timeline. We headed over to the Bogard Log church in English, Indiana.Â
We ran around capturing details of the inside of the Church then set out to take groomsmen images. You could tell this bunch wasn't much for having their picture taken but they were hilarious to work with! Once they were lined up. Heather and I took our usual spots inside at the ceremony began. One thing I didn't think about was moving space to capture different angles. There was none. At least none to make without becoming a distraction. So I improvised and it turned out wonderfully! Then the bride and groom with their little's were swept away on a horse and buggy to their reception location! We drove to the location and immediately photographed reception details. If you didn't know these two, just taking a look at their wedding cake and cupcakes would tell you that they are into music! It was so beautiful watching the emotion of their first dances. Their adorable little girls had a knack for stealing the show and dances with that grandpa!
