Can IÂ just go back to being sixteen years old and have professional photos done? In my day, this is totally aging me, we would go to the photo studio at the mall. Pick out the most exciting backdrop we loved out of about 30. Picked the color it would be. Then waited around for about an hour for 50 wallet sized images to pass out to all of our closest friends and family. What I would give to just be able to look back at a session where a photographer took the time to get me out in the sunlight and capture some candid emotion!
A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of shooting Alyssa's Sweet Sixteen! A few months ago, I was asked what I think about doing a Game of Thrones Sweet Sixteen smash cake session. I was stoked! No doubt in my mind this would turn out wonderfully. A few months of planning and gathering details and this session came out so beautifully. I didn't really know Sweet Alyssa, but I just love her down to earth mother Christy. Serving them was an honor.Â
We started the session with a few staples of turning sixteen. Once the pink balloons and confetti were captured, the Khaleesi came out in a beautiful flowing gown. Her dragon, Spike, flew into her arms was placed in her arms. It was amazing how this bearded dragon expressed emotion for her. Only seeming content when he was very close to her. Mimicking her head movement. Placing his face on her face or nose to her nose. I've never seen a reptile love a human before. And the way she cared for him truly does make her the mother of a bearded dragon! I am so honored I got to have this experience with them and give her an awesome timeless photo gallery.
What can I say, I absolutely love taking photos of people having a good time and it was like for Alyssa to have her cake and eat it too!
