There is a pretty lengthy backstory to how my husband and I met. It will probably be a three part blog. You know I am not one to leave out a good detail. I am definitely a storyteller! So because this story just came up, IÂ thought it would be a fun one to share!Â
Saturday, I picked up my nephew Isaiah for a birthday tradition I started for my nephews a few years ago. Once a year, I pick the birthday boy up, drive to Target and let them pick out their own birthday gift. They have a birthday allowance of $30. Our conversations are always so interesting. Isaiah told me that his birthday is for the years. To anyone else that wouldn't make sense but I understood what he was talking about right away. Then he explained that with every year his age sort of matches up. He was born in 2010. It's 2019, he is nine years old. I told him that's how I remember how old he is! Not just because he was born in 2010 and that's easy math. But because that was the year that Uncle Joe and I met and also the night Isaiah was born, I actually gave Joe my phone number!
Isaiah whipped his head towards me. "WHAT!?" He said. I laughed and reminded him how I met Joe on World of Warcraft. We had been talking through online dm's for quite some time. But we never exchanged phone numbers. So that night when I was leaving to go make sure Heather was okay and wait for Isaiah to make his debut. I sent a message to Joe through World of Warcraft (dm) and told him my sister is in labor and if he wanted to message me, here is my phone number. Then I logged out.
I was a little nervous he would not call or message me. But within an hour he went to Walmart and put minutes on a phone so he could call me. Later I would find out that he had a phone but it was a work phone and he didn't give out that number often. So to sum this backup. Isaiah's birthday is also the night I had butterflies in my stomach giving out my phone number to my online man crush.Â
