Do you know what I think is really cool? When clients become friends!! I didn't know I had mutual friends with Sam Walker until she was in need of a newborn photographer. At some point, my friends Traci and Heather mentioned Sam. But sometimes names stay in oblivion until you can put a face or personality to them. We first met at Heather Wilkerson's baby shower then again at Stella's newborn photo shoot. Stella was the perfect newborn! She slept through everything, to the point where Heather and I just kept putting her in different settings and outfits. We were gonna go as long as she would let us! Afterward, Sam and I stayed in contact. Gushing over Stella's photos and talking family, makeup and beauty! Have you ever done that? You meet someone and you are just like... I like this human and I want to keep talking to them.
So when the time came around to do Stella's six-month images. And Sam asked on her facebook page for makeup and hair help. I willingly and eagerly volunteered. Seriously, me doing a friends makeup or hair is like their right of passage into being besties with me. Growing up. My grandfather built a complete hair salon in our home so my grandmother could work from home if she pleased! Anytime I had friends over and we were getting to know each other. I'd take them into the salon and we would play with hair and makeup. Nothing like bonding over a good glam session! Doing that for years, I have grown in my makeup and hair talents! I even offered it in my early stages of Wedding Photography Packages. Until I realized that taking on too much responsibility on a brides wedding day was too stressful for me. So I stick to photography. But that didn't stop me from glamming Sam up before our adventure to O' Bannon State Park for family portraits!
I had a lot of fun walking around the park with the Walker family. They were so much fun to work with. Their boys Aiden and Landyn remind me so much of my nephews. Stella is the cherry on top of their amazing little family!Â
