Let's take it back to the day my apprentice Heather Wilkerson and I went to visit our friend Heather Bailey, in the hospital. You see, Mrs. Bailey just had her sweet baby boy Miles. Heather excitedly brought ELP's first camera to snap some baby Miles photos. Once inside.. a different story came together! I witnessed then that Heather has a talent for photographing newborns and it was so exciting to watch! I forced encouraged Heather to pursue newborn photography with the promise that I would teach her everything I know and we would make it a team effort-- with her taking the lead shooting newborn sessions. Our agreed business belief is to provide a safe experience for newborns while getting those first two-week memories that fade so fast!
Heather dove in headfirst doing lots of research, newborn courses and collecting adorable and timeless items for newborn sessions! And like the awesome team that we have been all year long. (Did I mention she shoots weddings with me?) We showed up to baby Stella Walker's house with an entire newborn photography pop up studio. Then we quickly set up and got to work. Sam and her Husband did an awesome job following our Tips for Newborn Photography email we send to expecting parents before their newborn session takes place. We had a very sleepy angel to work with! Every outfit and set change was a vision Heather had. We quickly collaborated and brought her vision to life. Her eye provided me with beautifully shot newborn photos and I completed them with the unique Elisa Lucas Photography style of editing.Â
Picture after picture... we "oooh-ed and ahhh-ed" at. We had an amazing session and Sam was so sweet to take a few behind the scenes pictures of us! Watch out for them in future Instagram posts @elisalucasphotography.Â
