When I meet a engaged couple for the first time. I love asking, "How did you two meet?" They look at each other and smile. The guy usually passes on telling his side first. At first I thought it was a gesture of curtsey. But after meeting all of my wedding couples this year, I am starting to think that fellas feel like they are not great story tellers. Women on the other hand, go for it! They even remember the smallest details and I am so eager to hear them! Part of the reason I ask is because I love knowing their love story! I love the beginning of love stories. I love hearing about the chase. Who pursued who. Who decided to give the other person a chance. How did they come to be.
They were wearing how they met on their sleeve. No, literally, they were both wearing t-shirts that represented where they first met. At a Louder than Life concert. Which is so fun because at first when they got out of their car, as a photographer, your eyes dart to the outfits first. And my first thought was, "Okay that's Rock n' Roll!" It's different right? I like it! Then Justice told me their story and I fell in love with their awesome idea to wear how they met!!Â
They both had big smiles from the moment we met up in the parking lot and started walking the windy path to a beautiful spot in Spring Mill State Park. Let me tell you how these two were complete troopers. Do you remember that VERY windy day a few weeks ago. If you live in Southern Indiana you would probably nod your head and say, "Yes! That was a crazy windy day!" Well earlier that day the wind was blowing so crazy a few people I know lost electricity in their homes and my electricity was also being shady! When I arrived in Spring Mill. I sought out the hot-spot to take photos about half an hour before Justice and Cory arrived. I was walking on the path and a huge gust of wind brought the leaves up to my level and they floated with me in a very magical way. Magical for me. Probably not magical for clients trying to pose and look great with tame hair! Justice did not let the wind effect her spirits at all! As a matter of fact looking through their album now.. you have to look a little closer to see what a windy day it was!
I am so happy with our friendly and joyful experience together. And how much they love their images! This is one of the reasons why I not only love gaining clients but lifelong friends! I feel like images turn out the best when the atmosphere is fun and easy going. An experience I try to make for each and every one of my dear clients. Justice and Cory's October 2019 Wedding has me so excited to photograph. I can not wait to witness this milestone in their life!
