Welcome to Baby Blog Week!
Oiy! Hello there friends!! Jumping back into consistent blogging has not been easy. I have a list of beautiful newborns I had the honor of meeting October - January. So I figured what could be a better way to blog my little heart out than a special week dedicated to these little ones! Without further ado..Â
Sleepy little squishy one!! My goodness we couldn't have hoped for a better sleeper! Keep in mind this was our fourth session for the week of the December baby boom! We were roughly spending 2-3 hours in homes of amazing new parents. We know the stress it can be to take your baby out into the world to get those newborn photos. So right away we eliminate stress of the elements. But what about the stress of having us over 2-3 hours with a sweet baby that is more curious of being positioned and moved? Sleeping babies are like finding unicorn moments. Because then we can achieve those squishy images moms wish for. Each time we did a session, I would add something to our Tips for Newborn Photography email. For the hope that the next family we meet would feel that much for at ease with their photoshoot. Something that made a big impact on squishy baby photos was advising mom and dad to keep baby awake and hungry at least 2 hours until we arrive. We know! That's so sad and newborns will be upset with this uncalled for moment! But in the end it paid for Miss Elizabeth!
Upon arrival, we scouted the area and found a nice place to set up in the living room. With a little bit of research I found that Elizabeths big brother is a paw patrol fan! I stopped by Walgreen before the session and picked up a Paw Patrol coloring book with Paw Patrol stickers inside. For every bit of participation in family photos he did, he got to pick out one sticker. This sweet boy was soooo incredible he ended up winning over the entire coloring book and all the stickers!
Then we got right into our posing routine with Miss Elizabeth. Incorporating adorable swaddles and outfits mama had specially for Elizabeths session. Although we bring an assortment of options to choose from. We really enjoy adding a touch of unique and special clothes and treasures. Since Elizabeth was so sleepy the session went to incredibly smooth. Seriously! We were done within just one hour! It was to the point where Heather and I felt like we might be missing something! Post editing went smooth as well but there was something that I missed after sharing Elizabeths album to her mama. A composite that I had been working on. I had a little bit of a challenge compositing my hands out of two of these photos to make one beautiful one. (The composite I am talking about has Elizabeth propped up holding her face in her hands.)Â At some point IÂ decided to take a little break. Then later something in my gut told me to look back through her images. And there is was 80% complete. With fresh eyes, I completed this beautiful images and admitted to mama my mistake. I was humbled by her understanding and excitement for this hidden gem! So very excited to work with this sweet family again in the future!
